Free AAC Symbol Libraries

Free AAC Symbol library to the rescue! I can’t tell you how many times I have spent SO. MUCH. TIME. searching for just the right symbol to use in a resource. If you are in special needs ministry or a special needs parent, you’ve probably done the same. Have you heard about Open Symbols?

Open Symbols is like a search engine for adapted communication symbols. There are several databases that it searches. My favorites include Mulberry Symbols and ARASAAC database!

Here’s a little glimpse of what you can find…

These are all free to use for personal use, and some of the symbols can be used for commercial use with attribution.

Looking for more options?

Check out Connectability.ca, it’s an easy way to make a quick custom communication board or schedule and includes a symbol search.

Another favorite is to use Canva! You can use the graphics on Canva for classroom and home use.

Happy Creating!
