Welcome to Awe & Wonder: Special Needs Ministry Resources!

As I was praying over what to call this ministry, the verse above came to mind. As believers, we are called to go into all the earth and make disciples. We want all the people in the world to stand in awe of God’s great wonders. We want to see ALL people come to know and worship God! I had a professor at Bible college who constantly said,

“all means all, and that’s all all means”.

Children and adults with disabilities are not excluded from all. As the church, we need to be intentionally reaching those with differing abilities and their families with the Gospel and integrating them into the life of the church. Special needs parents are called to disciple and teach their children the truths of Scripture, just like any other Christian parent.

Awe & Wonder is a hub of resources to help make that task easier.

Curriculum

Awe & Wonder has developed a curriculum specifically for those with special needs who need adaptions to better understand and know the Bible.

The curriculum subscription launched in July 2023 with a membership option for families and one for churches.

Family memberships open 4 times a year.

Church subscriptions are open year-round.

this includes:

4 Differentiated Levels of the Adapted Bible Story Book each month
Weekly lesson plans that will take students through the big story of the Bible each year
Training for volunteers and ministry leaders
Quarterly Event Guides
Church/Home Connections
Resource Library

Discipleship Resources

Awe & Wonder creates adapted discipleship resources to help parents and ministry leaders communicate big truths about God and what it looks like to live the Christian life to kids and adults with special needs. We want to provide resources that help people understand who God is, and how to have a relationship with Him in an approachable and understandable way.

Tools & Recommendations

Awe & Wonder offers tools and resources to help the church be more accessible to those with special needs. These resources are great for families and for ministries.

We provide resource lists and recommendations for the classroom and home, as well as compile lists of other ministries and organizations that support special needs ministries and families.

Training & Tips

Awe & Wonder is developing a library of video trainings and blog posts to help support volunteers, ministry leaders, and parents. I want to share the evidence-based methods that I learned and used in my adapted curriculum special education classroom as a SPED teacher. Let’s explore together how can we apply these practices and teaching methods to the church environment.
